Fiona Dunn
Join Fiona and Church Movements to equip and send people to connect communities with Jesus.I am excited to let you know that I have been accepted as a Provisional Missionary at Power to Change. I am now leaning in to be fully dependant on God and ministry partners to support me and my family in prayer and other resources.
I live in Melbourne, Australia, with my husband Andrew, two sons (Lloyd and Christian) who both live at home studying full time and two dogs.
The Journey so far...
God has taken me on a long journey to fully serve Him. From going to church with my family as a child — God has been calling me. Like many young people, I tried to walk away from Him and tried to do everything in my own power while I was studying teaching at uni and started my career and family. Of course, that failed and I was tired and stressed in all parts of my life. Moving to Glen Waverley, there was a modern, vibrant church with a great kids program just round the corner. When a friend invited us to go—I wanted my family to have a strong community similar to my childhood. After doing Alpha and joining a home group I found myself surrounded by amazing, Godly people.
Six months later my mother died and my marriage imploded.
Yet, I look back on that time and realise, that even though I had been far from God, He was always with me and provided a faith community to lean on when I needed it most.
I had a successful corporate career transitioning from teaching to adult learning and then to sales and marketing and project management. After a stint in the finance sector, I felt God calling me to use my talents in a way that pleased Him and made a difference to the world.
I was blessed to join World Vision International and became the Global Head of Learning and Development. Post COVID, and having completed my Masters at bible college, I felt Gods call again to make a difference closer to home.
That vibrant church we joined shrank—like most churches in Australia. I felt God’s call to make a difference here in Australia and help churches revitalise, grow and church plant. Just over two years ago I joined Power to Change as the Expansion Project Manager that was funded through a 3 yr grant. I feel that I am where God wants me to be … making a difference to everyday Australians and churches.

My decision to become a missionary is to continue to equip churches to reach the 87% of Australians that they aren’t currently connecting with.
